author talks BPL Book Prize

The Brooklyn Eagles present an evening with 2017 Brooklyn Public Library Fiction & Poetry Literary Prize winner Tommy Pico, in conversation with Joe Osmundson.

Moderated by writer Angel Nafis, both authors will discuss their latest books Junk and Inside/Out, which share themes of break-ups and Queer relationship dynamics.

Building on IRL and Nature Poem, Pico’s Junk is a book-length break-up poem that explores the experience of loss and erasure, both personal and cultural. Osmundson’s Inside/Out has been called “a haunting meditation on longing and making sense of lost love through the lens of a perpetual outsider” by Tanwi Nandini Islam, author of Bright Lines.

Angel Nafis is the author of BlackGirl Mansion (Red Beard Press/ New School Poetics, 2012).  Her work has appeared in The BreakBeat Poets Anthology, The Rumpus, Poetry MagazineBuzzfeed Reader and elsewhere.

Reception to follow. Registration for this event is required.
